Thank you for this. What she said about getting the nuances of science/medical terms right in order not to radically change the meaning is something I think about a lot when preachers spout Greek and Hebrew like they know it. I think, “Surely we should be more careful here. There’s a lot at stake.”

I'm going for this book! It's returned me to thinking about a personal essay I started nearly 20 years ago after a car accident that impacted my health for years. A neck injury is invisible, just like chronic fatigue, and it produces a miasma around you that people often relate to as not real, circumstantial or self-serving. The difficulty in getting medical professionals and others around you to take you seriously is devastating, as well as wondering if you'll ever be fully functional again. Thank you for this interview and getting introduced to Jennifer Lunden!
