I was just writing about this name change issue. How lucky your antagonist was so cooperative. I loved this line, "the Gen X condition as analog children thrust into a digital context."

Yes! that line totally resonated for me too

Thank you much JG! I'm entirely lucky that my antagonist is a miracle, a long-time survivor of AIDS. He can still push my buttons, too.

That Gen-X condition is something I've been thinking/writing about outside of this memoir. It's germane to this text, what with my time as an 'analog' kept boy and a digital hustler in AOL chatrooms.

Dean Johnson as in Dean and The Weenies? I loved Dean! Your book sounds fantastic. I look forward to reading it.

Yes that very Dean! He was a friend and a champion of my work. Chapter 8 is largely about him. There's a documentary in post-production called "The Big Johnson" from his band mate Lola Rocknrolla.

Oooooh, wonderful! There was no one like Dean! When he'd open that window slot at Save The Robots and peer out at you, deciding if he should let you in! Did you know Brendan Brogan or Kory Clarke?

I LOVED Save the Robots for afters and was usually too high to function lol. I know Brendan through socials. I hope the doc comes out soon, I'm featured pretty heavily!
