Another late-diagnosed autistic writer here! 👋🏻 I relate so much to everything about this. I’m so glad more of us are sharing our stories with the world. Adding your book to my TBR!
So funny and heartening and warm-making to find yourself mirrored. Makes me feel less, well, wrong. Your book now top of my to-read list. Thank you Marion. And thank you Memoirland...
Thanks for sharing about your new book. It was of interest to me on several fronts--you are living in Portland, Oregon (my hometown), you are writing about autism (I have two autistic nephews and I am always looking for clues to understand how they might be seeing the world), and it's a hybrid memoir (I am writing memoir and interested in this form of memoir). I will be searching out your book through my local library--and asking them to purchase if they haven't. Again, thanks for sharing.
You are the best Judy! I will also say there are two chapters in my book set at my college -- DAVIDSON!! Thank you so much for requesting it at the library, that makes a huge difference.
Davidson College?! OMGosh...I do have Davidson ancestors related to those Davidsons. I've heard very good things about that school and they are a leader in the reparations movement. I definitely need to read your book.
I just went into my local library catalog to request the book and learned that the library is already in the process of acquiring it and there are 8 holds on it ahead of me!! You are doing well in Lowell, Mass.
Wow! Excited to read your book! Just ordered, but also requested my library purchase -- best way to get it on the shelf for others. What I most look forward to hearing is, how did a diagnosis change you -- or, from your title, "made you whole." What does knowing you're autistic actually do for your day-to-day life?
Hi Marian!! I'm so excited for your book and so proud of you!! We "talked" back in the good ol' days of Twitter (👋🏻 I'm @lamiki there still). I'm so so so so happy for you!!! Thank you for sharing your journey!!
I am so excited about the book and the memoir. Having several women in my life who are neurodivergent, and have been misdiagnosed, misjudged, and maltreated, I am grateful that Marian is telling her story of life with autism.

I’m being tested on Tuesday!
Sending love for the pre-test nerves! Hope it brings clarity for you
We are legion!

Oh I love hearing that, thank you! I'm nearby right now, doing my next tour stop at Harvard Bookstore tomorrow night.
